It came down to the last Pro Open race weekend and Tim Tremblay held a slim lead in the overall standings , THAN a Aftermarket belt malfunctioned and the title slipped away the rest of the weekend .
Tim wrapped up a successful Motocross year racing on the Yamaha Rockstar OTSFF race team all summer .

Gaetan "Chester" Duval was Ski-doo's Race Director in the Mid To late 80's during the Popular years and large numbers of entries in the Oval circuits .
During these years Snowmobile racing was very popular with the Offset ice oval racers and ProStock racers with factory oval and SnowCross race sleds.
More racers and Racing Circuits were supported than than any other time in racing history.
